Islamabad A three-day ‘International Exhibition and Conference on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency’ will be held at the Pak-China Friendship Centre, Islamabad, from March 5 to 7, 2016. The conference aims at highlighting the key issues Pakistan is currently facing regarding energy needs; inefficient energy utilisation, lack of public awareness and underdeveloped infrastructure. Naseer Ahmad, chairman of the Renewable Energy Association of Pakistan (REAP), said on Wednesday, the conference is a platform for key manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers, project developers, universities, system integrators, research and development institutes functioning in energy sector to display products and give solutions by exhibiting. REAP, the organiser of ‘International Exhibition and Conference on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency’ is the first-ever registered unit of the country in alternative and renewable energy sector with a task to reduce the national dependence on conventional assets of energy by promoting renewable resources of energy in Pakistan. The renewable energy in Pakistan is a comparatively growing sector, the market for renewable and alternative energy and their components has shown development over last decade and numerous constructive factors ensure that it will continue in the future. Almost 150 companies from China, Germany and Turkey will be a part of the conference by exhibiting at REAP’16, to produce more new scenarios and leads. The expo will help increase the number of participants from China, Germany and Turkey by contributing to the growing energy industry and will also open the world to practice the excellence of products ‘Made in Pakistan.’
