USAID director lauds govt’s efforts regarding education sector

The newly appointed Director Education USAID Natasha has admired the efforts of the current government regarding the education sector and showed a keen interest in working with the federal government in order to improve the education standards in Pakistan.
While, she was called on here Wednesday with the Minister of State for Education Engineer Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman at the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.
Minister of State welcomed the USAID team and told them about several projects which are being undertaken by the government including National Curriculum Council, Revision of National Education Policy 2009 and Establishing Vocation and Technical Training Schools etc throughout the country.
He also talked about AEPAM (Academy of Educational Planning and Management) which is working on ECED (Early Childhood Education and Development).
"I want to see this institute as a best institute of the country which can create awareness among parents about the importance of early childhood education", stated the minister.
AEPAM would be educating the masses about when should the send their children to school and what is the minimum level of education that needs to be attained by a child; moreover AEPAM would also be working on the development of ECED curriculum.
