LAHORE
An anti-terrorism court judge, Khawaja Zafar Iqbal, on Wednesday ordered Sheikhupura police to delete name of a 13-month-old boy from a case registered against some persons on charges of disturbing law and order situation at a polling station on November 19, during polling of second phase of local government elections.
On Wednesday, Father of the minor, Aqdas Khalid, appeared before the court holding the terror ‘accused’ in his arms while the accused was holding milk feeder. He told the court that the police lodged an FIR against persons involved in tearing ballot papers and manhandling polling staff during the election in the district.
He said the police also nominated his minor son in the FIR and attributed an active role in the case. He asked the court to quash the FIR registered against his son.
A police official told the court that the minor was not nominated in the case but an adult of the similar name.
The court after hearing the arguments of both sides ordered the police to remove the name of the minor from the FIR and produce the real suspect before the court on next hearing.
