AG calls to improve standard of accountancy

KARACHI: Rana Asad Ameen, Auditor General of Pakistan, on Monday called upon career officials of accounts and audit profession to undertake all out efforts to improve standard of accountancy and audit in the country and bring it to international standard.
Addressing senior officials of Accountant General of Sindh, Audit and Accounts Service, Directorate General of Pakistan Revenue, Director General ( Audit) and the Military Accounts, Ameen said the current state of accountancy and audit in the country leave much to be desired. “The painstaking efforts are needed by the career officials and professionals to bring the system to the international standard,” he added.
Alluding to shortcomings and problems being experienced by the Accountant General Sindh, Ameen held out an assurance that shortage of career officials would soon be removed.
Earlier, on his arrival, Accountant General Sindh Ihsan Ali Kehar in his welcome address threw light on issues and problems being experienced by the A.G. Sindh office and its subordinate offices.
The Auditor General of Pakistan, on this occasion, inaugurated the newly constructed complex of the Accountant General Sindh.
