MULTAN: The Falah-i-Insaniat (FIF), a charity organisation of the Jamaatud Dawa, has planned to expand its relief and rescue services across the country, said FIF chairman Hafiz Abdur Rauf.
Talking to The News here, he said that the FIF idea was developed during the Azad Kashmir earthquake. He said that the organisation was working purely on humanitarian grounds. The FIF hospitals and ambulances provided services to the people without any discrimination, he added. He said that the FIF had served Hindus in interior Sindh. He said that the FIF had launched free ambulance service at the district level. He said that the FIF was imparting training to more than 100,000 volunteers across the country for rescue centres, which would be equipped with the latest equipments. He said that the FIF would establish one rescue centre after every 50km. He said that the FIF had opened its first rescue centre in Muzaffargarh district some days ago. He said that they had applied for visas for taking part in rescue work in Nepal but the Nepalese embassy refused to issue visas due to the UN restrictions on the FIF.
