ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will raise Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar’s threat ‘to deal with Pakistan through terror methods’ with the UN forum for eradicating terrorism.
Highly-placed sources told The News on Sunday evening that important world capitals were being alerted about the Indian designs and diplomats posted in Islamabad were also being briefed on the Indian attitude and Pakistan’s response on this count. The overall situation would be discussed here today (Monday) in a high level meeting at the PM House.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will chair the meeting where some important decisions will be taken since the Indian leaders are hurling threats at Pakistan security regularly.
Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi used obnoxious language about Pakistan and Ajit Doval, National Security Adviser (NSA) of the Indian prime minister, also issued irresponsible statements.Ajit Doval also headed Indian notorious terror sponsoring intelligence gathering outfit “RAW” before assuming the incumbent assignment.
This time it is the Indian defence minister who has openly talked of exploiting terrorists against Pakistan. The statement itself is confession of using terror as tool for attaining ulterior motives. The statement of the extremist defence minister of India is being widely condemned by the public opinion and people have impressed on the government to reply it befittingly. Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar made repeated statements that India will use terrorism against Pakistan to counter terrorism. Indian media quoted Parrikar as saying last week that India had to neutralize terrorists through terrorists.
Meanwhile, sensing heat from the world capitals about the statement, Ajit Doval has sought to play down Parrikar’s controversial comment and interestingly Doval had also issued an antagonizing statement with regard to Pakistan.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has expressed serious concern over Parrikar’s statement. He said the statement only confirmed Pakistan’s apprehensions about India’s involvement in terrorism on the Pakistani soil.
It must be the first time that a minister of an elected government openly advocates use of terrorism in another country on the pretext of preventing terrorism from that country or its non-state actors.
He said Pakistan sincerely pursues a policy of good neighborly relations with India. “Terrorism is our common enemy and it is vital for the two countries to work together to defeat this menace from which Pakistan has suffered much more than almost any other country,” Sartaj Aziz maintained.
It is likely that Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry will brief a high level meeting at the PM House today (Monday) about the situation that has developed due to the statement of the Indian minister. Other high ups including SAPM on foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi will also be present, the sources added.
