ISLAMABAD: A three-member delegation from the United States Institute of Peace, led by Nancy Lindborg, president of the USIP, called on Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi here on Wednesday.
Tariq Fatemi highlighted the steps taken by the government to counter the menace of terrorism effectively through initiatives like the National Action Plan and seeking peace in the neighbourhood through focus on dialogue and cooperation.
He also underscored the steps taken by the government for Pakistan’s economic revival and good governance. The delegation recognised Pakistan’s efforts to curb terrorism and acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan in this regard. Pakistan’s mature approach towards its bilateral relations with its neighbours was also appreciated.
