Private schools allowed to open administration offices
The Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions Sindh (Dirpis) on Thursday allowed the owners of private schools to open their administration offices during the lockdown regime.
The directorate however issued standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the private schools’ management in this regard. The SOPs read that all the privately managed schools functioning under Dirpis would be bound to follow government instructions. Before opening the administration offices, it will be mandatory for them to take all the precautionary measures for the safety of their admin employees.
Dirpis warned the private schools not to start any academic activity or call teachers. Only the admin offices of the private schools will be opened so that the administrators could collect monthly fees, the guidelines said.
The administration of schools have to provide masks and sanitisers to the employees of the admin offices and make sure that sanitisers are available at every entry and exit points of the schools, the directorate said.
The management of private schools was also directed to ensure that there was a proper distance between co-workers at the offices and no more than three employees are present at the offices.
No student will be called by any school owner to deposit fees, the SOPs read. All the private schools were also directed to grant concessions in the tuition fees, so that the parents could easily pay fees. The admins were directed to deal with each case separately.
