SUKKUR: An advocate of Dadu Bar Association has submitted a petition in the District and Sessions Court, Dadu, questioning the legal standing of the Jirga recently held between Jatoi and Shahani tribes to settle down their prolonged feud.

Jatoi and Shahani tribes came to peace after reconciliation in a jirga held five days ago. The jirga fined Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi of Rs5 million for killing of two people of Shahani clan and fined Sardar Chakar Khan Shahani Rs3 million for attacking and occupying a bungalow of Murtaza Jatoi. Advocate Ghulam Nabi Lashari maintained that the Jirga had no legal standing rather it was sheer violation of the Constitution. The District and Sessions Court, Dadu, summoned DC and SSP Dadu on August 5, with complete record of the jirga.
