Another day without corona death
Rawalpindi : The confirmation of 64 new patients positive for coronavirus illness, COVID-19 from Islamabad Capital Territory and Rawalpindi district in the last 24 hours has taken tally to 107,334 while no death has been reported from the region due to the illness.
It is, however, important that as many as 1,768 patients suffering from COVID-19 had already died of the illness from the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi recording case fatality rate as 1.65 per cent. From Pakistan, the CFR has so far been recorded as 2.3 per cent.
Data collected by ‘The News’ on Sunday reveals that to date, a total of 104,441 confirmed patients belonging to the twin cities have recovered from the illness while the number of active cases from the region has been recorded as 1,125 on Sunday.
In the last 24 hours, as many as 37 new patients have been tested positive from ICT taking the tally to 82,565 of which 80,815 patients have recovered while 776 have lost their lives. The number of active cases of COVID-19 in ICT was 974 on Sunday.
From Rawalpindi, 27 new patients have been tested positive taking the total number of patients so far confirmed from the district to 24,769 of which 23,626 have recovered from the disease.
As many as 992 patients have so far died of the illness from the district.
According to In-charge District COVID-19 Cell Rawalpindi Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Jawad Zahid, another 17,153 persons have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the district in the last 24 hours taking the total number of individuals so far vaccinated in Rawalpindi district to 679,012 of which 648,046 persons are from the general public and 30,966 are healthcare workers.
