Rawalpindi: Punjab government has directed all commissioners and deputy commissioners in the province to establish ‘Cattle Markets’ 10 days before Eidul Azha. The Punjab government on Friday issued a notification regarding the establishment of ‘Cattle Markets’ in the province.
The Punjab government has sent a complete advisory for following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in all cattle markets and directed commissioners and deputy commissioners to provide all kinds of necessary facilities to buyers and sellers.
The government has directed local managements of all cities to establish cattle markets outside city limits.
Deputy Commissioner (DC), Rawalpindi spokesman Shahid Shah told ‘The News’ that temporary cattle markets will be set up 10-days before Eidul Azha all facilities will be provided to facilitate buyers and sellers. “We will strictly implement SOPs here in all cattle markets,” he assured.
According to the notification issued by the Punjab government, local administration will choose open areas outside the city to establish cattle markets. There should be proper lighting arrangements, water arrangements, and toilet arrangements in cattle markets. The upcoming monsoon is a threat therefore it has been directed to establish cattle markets keeping in view the ‘monsoon’ to avoid rain over cattle. Nobody would be allowed to enter the cattle markets without masks. Both buyers and sellers would use hand sanitizers and masks.
The District Health Officer (DHO) Islamabad Dr. Zaeem Zia said that our surveillance teams would strictly monitor cattle markets. “We will never spare without mask buyers and sellers,” he warned.
The district administration, Rawalpindi has decided to set up big cattle markets here in Mandra, Chakri Road, Adiala Road and Kallar Road where strict precautionary guidelines would be implemented.
Reliable sources said that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the administration was thinking to waive off all charges and taxes on the vendors.
The online system for purchasing sacrificial animals has failed badly as people are more interested in buying them after personally examining animals in the markets.
