Child marriages
In our country, the higher authorities don’t pay attention to the serious of child marriages. According to a United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) report, around 115 million men around the world were married as children. Around 23 million men got married before they turned 15. Child marriages snatch a child’s innocence and deprive him/her of the carefree nature of childhood. Child grooms are burdened with multiple responsibilities including earning for his new family. The added pressure also takes a toll on children’s physical health.
Despite knowing the negative impacts of child marriages, parents and communities still force their children to get married at a young age and start a new life. These children are unfairly burdened with family responsibilities when they are not even capable of taking decisions for themselves.
