Rain, thunderstorm hit KP areas

PESHAWAR: Rain coupled with wind-thunderstorm lashed different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the provincial capital, on Tuesday bringing down the temperature that had raised during the last couple of days.

The rain, which started Monday night continued with intervals till Tuesday evening, brought down the temperature. The rain might help restrict the unnecessary movement of people to prevent the coronavirus from spreading. There were also reports of rain from various districts of the province besides Punjab, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. According to Meteorological Department, Malam Jabba received 52 millimeter rain during the 24 hours flowed by Upper Dir with 38, Lower Dir 26, Cherat 28, Peshawar 28, Saidu Sharif 20, Chitral 20, Dera Ismail Khan 15, Kakul 13, Balakot 12, Bannu 10, Mirkhani 08, Parachinar 06, Patan 03.

In Balochistan, Ziarat received 43 millimeter rain, Sibbi 21, Khuzdar 18, Loralai 14, Panjgur 13, Zhob 09, Barkhan 05, Quetta city 04, Nokkundi, Kalat 02 and Turbat 01

In Punjab, Murree received 20 millimeter, Islamabad A/P 18, ZP 14, Saidpur, 14, Golra, Bokra 11, Rawalpindi 09, Shamsabad 11, Joharabad 15, Jhelum 13, Mandi Bahauddin 11, Noorpur Thal Chakwal 10, Jhang 08, Gujranwala 05, Khanewal 03, Sialkot city 02, Bhawal Nagar, Gujrat 02, Faisalabad, Sajawal, Kasur, Norwal, Okara, Rahimyar Khan, DG Khan, Multan, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalpur 01 millimeter.

Rawlakot in Kashmir received 15 millimeter, Garhi Dupatta 11, Muzaffarabad city 10, AP 07 and Kotli 10 millimeter rain.

The met office forecast more rain at few places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan today (Wednesday) and partly cloudy weather in most part of the country.
