Jamie Lee Curtis backs Daryl Hannah’s criticism of Ryan Murphy’s 'Love Story'
Jamie Lee Curtis extends support to Daryl Hannah as she takes a stand against 'untrue' portrayal of her in Ryan Murphy’s 'Love Story'
Jamie Lee Curtis has also jumped into the field after Daryl Hannah’s strong criticism of Ryan Murphy’s Love Story.
For those unaware, Murphy’s biographical romance anthology television series, Love Story, released on February 12, 2026, on FX and Hulu, shows the whirlwind courtship and marriage of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.
It also shows Hannah’s relationship with Kennedy Jr, whom she first interacted with in the early 1980s. They reconnected in 1988 and remained together for five years until their breakup in 1994.
After the nine-episode-based first instalment was released, she wrote an essay published in The New York Times, slamming the series for the “untrue” portrayal of her character, especially her relationship with the late Kennedy Jr.
Hannah wrote, “The character 'Daryl Hannah' portrayed in the series is not even a remotely accurate representation of my life, my conduct or my relationship with John. The actions and behaviors attributed to me are untrue.”
"I have long believed that engaging with distortion often amplifies it. But a recent tragedy-exploiting television series about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette features a character using my name and presents her as me. The choice to present her as irritating, self-absorbed, whiny and inappropriate was no accident,” she stated.
Curtis has now come forward in support of Hannah, as she posted screenshots of her essay on her Instagram on Friday, March 6.
The Oscar-winning actress also added a caption under the post that read, “IMPORTANT.”
It is worth mentioning that Curtis also collaborated with Murphy for Scream Queens, a satirical dark comedy slasher television series, aired on FX from 2015 to 2016.
