NBP, Wapda in National Badminton final
LAHORE: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Pakistan Wapda qualified for the men’s team event final of 57th National Badminton Championship here on Monday.
NBP reached the final after beating SNGPL by 3-1 and Pakistan Wapda reached entered the final after beating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 3-0. In the women’s team final Pakistan Wapda will play against SNGPL.
Results of the team event semifinals: NBP beat SNGPL by 3-1:1st singles: Muhammad Muqeet (SNGPL) beat Raja Zulqarnain Haider (NBP) by 21-15, 21-19. 1st doubles: Rizwan Azam & Raja Hasnain (NBP) beat Muhammad Muqeet & Shahmeer Iftikhar (SNGPL) by 17-21, 21-14, 22-20.
Second singles: Murad Ali (NBP) beat Shahmeer Iftikhar (SNGPL) by 17-21, 21-14, 22-20
Second doubles: Kashif Sulehri & Raja Zulqarnain Haider (NBP) beat M Nouman & Ahmad Tariq (SNGPL) by 21-14, 21-13
Pakistan Wapda beat KP by 3-0:1st singles: Azeem Sarwar (Wapda) beat M Adnan (KP) by 18-21, 21-14, 21-7
1st doubles: Awais Zahid & Muhammad Atique (Wapda) beat Shakirullah & Zubair Shah (KP) by 21-17, 21-15
SAecond singles: Irfan Saeed Bhatti (Wapda) beat Tahir Shah (KP) by 21-10, 21-11.
