Buckingham Palace issues statement on Princess Anne and her husband Sir Tim Laurence's visit to Greece
Princess Anne and her husband Sir Tim Laurence met The President of Greece, Konstantinos Tasoulas, in Athens, said Buckingham Palace on Friday.
According to the palace, Anne and her husband are visiting Greece to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Crete.
The royal family's social media accounts also shared a couple of pictures of Anne and her husband meeting the president.
The Battle of Crete was a major World War II campaign fought from 20 May to 1 June 1941, in which Nazi Germany launched the first large-scale airborne invasion in military history to capture the Greek island of Crete.
The United Kingdom played a central, governing role in the Battle of Crete, acting as the primary geopolitical planner, military leadership, and naval defender of the Allied coalition.
