ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) will stage peaceful protests today (Friday) all over Pakistan against the incident of desecration of Holy Quran in Norway.
In a joint statement on Thursday, the Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi and office bearers and representatives of different religions and religious organisations said that peaceful protests will be staged against the condemnable incident of desecration of Quran in Norway.
To mark protest day, clerics, ulema and religious scholars will eulogise dignity of Holy Quran in Friday sermons. The clerics and leadership of different religions and religious sects have also lauded efforts on part of the Pakistan Ulema Council to constitute a ‘World Peace Council’ which has been established to promote interfaith dialogue and to contain rising Islamophobia in western world for Muslims,” the joint statement stated.
It is worth mentioning here that ‘World Peace Council’ has been constituted to promote interfaith harmony across the world and this council has been comprised on representatives of religious leadership of different religions and religious sects.
