ABBOTTABAD: Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) will shortly implement a project establishing 1000 industrial stitching units across Pakistan including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), beside Business Development services and Economic Revitalisation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa & Fata (ERKF) projects being carried out.
This was disclosed by SMEDA's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sher Ayub and General Manager Out-Reach (GMOR) Javed Iqbal Khattak while addressing Abbottabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry here. Others, who were present at the occasion included Asad Mehmood from EKRK, Shehryar Ahmed of SIDB, President Abbottabad Chamber of commerce Iftikhar Ahmed and others.
The SMEDA head said the SMEDA is a statutory body responsible for the growth and development of small and medium enterprises in the country. It is trying its best for the support of small & medium businesses and industry. He said pre-feasibility studies of 250 projects have been placed on the website while additional 250 will be completed in a couple of months. The representative said that SMEDA was to take on the challenge of developing Small & Medium Enterprises in Pakistan.
According to the ministry’s spokesperson, this matter was never included in the cabinet’s agenda
