Melting glaciers

According to media reports, the pace with which our glaciers are melting is faster than any other country in the world. According to glaciologists, glaciers are adding fuel to the fire of floods and due to this melting of snow the flood situation is aggravating day by day. Glaciers are melting at a faster pace because of exceptional environmental changes.
And noow glaciers up to 20,000 feet high have started melting. Climate change has not only triggered extreme weather events it has also brought uncertainties in the behaviour of certain weather phenomena. The country is heading for increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events that include frequent floods and droughts. Hence there is a need to make policies to cope with the situation.
