KARACHI: Pakistan keeping in view the rise in arrest of Chinese nationals in skimming cases has decided to deport those Chinese nationals who fail to provide details or purpose of their visit or place where they would stay.
Talking to The News, FIA Sindh Cyber Crime Circle Assitant Director Amjad Abbasi said this was decided in a meeting that Chinese nationals would not be allowed to move without clarifying reason of their visit or place of their stay.
Abbasi, who was also investigating the skimming cases that surfaced in Karachi, said the Immigration Wing has been directed to pass on the decision to their staff at all airports of the country that if any Chinese national arrives in the country without booking hotel or guesthouse, then deport him/her immediately. Abbasi said they got verbal direction from the FIA headquarter and said written notification in this regard would be issued shortly. About the ongoing investigation from two Chinese nationals, who were arrested from Saddar on January 10, he said it is an organized group of skimmers operating in the country. He said the arrested suspects disclosed some places in Defence Housing Authority (DHA), and said they conducted raids at these DHA areas and recovered cash, skimming devices and master ATM cards.
