LHCBA expresses concern over rejection of bill against Nawaz

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Bar Association expressed serious concerns over rejection of Elections (Amendment) Bill 2017 against ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Bar office- bearers said they cannot bear insult of state institutions. They said they would hold “all parties’ conference on present political scenario and future of democracy” on December 9. LHCBA President Ch Zulfiqar Ali, Secretary Amir Saeed Rawn addressed the press conference. The lawyers’ leaders said Nawaz Sharif delivered a contemptuous speech in Abbottabad. They said the judiciary is the only state institution, which is doing its own work and criticism against it cannot be tolerated.
