Women’s trade fair concludes in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: Famous artistes and singers stole the show at the concluding ceremony of the two-day 4th Women's Trade Fair here on Wednesday.
Organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) and Women Chamber of Commerce, music night and quiz shows were also arranged for the visitors.
Artistes and singers, including Shahid Ali Khan, Saif, Nimra Qureshi, Bakhtiar Khattak, Zeek Afridi, Laila, Ismail Shahid, Said Rahman Sheeno, Ijaz Sarhadi and others performed at the music show. The performers received a thunderous applause from the audience for their melodious and outstanding performances.
A large number of women and families from Peshawar and across the province visited the venue and evinced keen interest in different products displayed at the fair. The organisers had established various stalls and boutiques showcasing cultural and traditional dresses, local and traditional foods, fashion shows and kid zones.
The women entrepreneurs from all cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Swat, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Mardan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Chitral Gilgit and businesswomen from other major cities Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Karachi & Islamabad put their products on display in the fair.
The stalls also displayed handicrafts, clothing, gemstones, handmade jewellery, stone jewellery, leather products, mosaic work, jute wok, purses & clutches, beauty products, bed sheets, baby clothing, toys, kitchen utensils, food items and a lot more.
On the occasion, the officials of Women Chamber of Commerce, TDAP and TCKP said that the event was aimed at holding activities for business and skilled women to encourage them to market their products. They said the Women Chamber of Commerce would support the businesswomen in their endeavours to establish businesses and carry on trade activities. The organisers added the trade fair was a good platform for the women entrepreneurs to showcase products and boost their businesses.
