Availability of right information in at the right time for the right users is a big challenge for world of academia researches and organisation and Information Portal launched by Riphah university is a big achievement.
This was stated by Professor Dr. Arshad Ali, executive director, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Riphah Information Portal Riphah International University at WISH Campus, Islamabad here on Friday.
Professor Dr. Anis Ahmed, vice chancellor, said that Riphah International University believes on value added education and focusing on inculcation of Islamic ethical values among young generation to strengthen future of Pakistan. He welcomed chief guest and participants for sparing their valuable time for this ceremony.
Muhammad Farooq, director, Information Services gave a presentation about the salient features of Riphah Information Portal developed by Information Services Department to facilitate researchers including faculty and students to enhance research culture.
Prominent Librarians and Information Professionals from Quaid-i-Azam University, International Islamic University, National Defence University, Director General Department of Libraries Govt. of Pakistan, Head of the Department LIS, AIOU, Director HEC library, National University of Science and Technology, Fauji Foundation University participated in the ceremony.
After inaugurating the Riphah Information Portal Prof. Dr. Arshad Ali appreciated the efforts of Riphah International University in the field of library and information services. He said Information services and knowledge management are the new emerging disciplines. It is the time to address library issues and problems in Pakistan. He offered his services to library professionals regarding uplifting libraries in Pakistan.
He advised Director HEC library to ensure quarterly meetings with library professionals to devise policies and procedures to strengthen library services in Pakistan. Inaugural ceremony was concluded by presenting University shield to the chief guest Prof. Dr. Arshad Ali by Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmed.
