Villager accuses police of harassment
PESHAWAR: A resident of the Musazai village in the limits of the Badaber Police Station has protested against the alleged harassment of his family by the police when they entered his house while chasing a local allegedly carrying a gun.
One Qaiser Khan hailing from Musazai has sent applications to the inspector general of police and capital city police that a party of the Badaber Police Station headed by Sub-Inspector Sabir broke into their house when no male member was inside.
He added that the cops said they were chasing a local who was carrying a gun and who ran towards the house. “The cops harassed the women and created a scene. They could have contacted the elders to help the man bring out of the home. The cops have insulted our family by entering in such a violent way in violation of the Pakhtun culture for which the cops need to be punished duly,” said Qaiser.
He complained that he had lodged a complaint with the police access service four days back but in vain. The villager said he again called the complaint centre on Monday but was told to call later. He added that the complaint system needed to be improved as the complainants were not getting any response.
