LAHORE : Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan and Qatar Charity have signed a MoU to expand healthcare access in underserved and remote areas across Pakistan. As part of the agreement, Qatar Charity will extend financial and technical support to 13 mobile health units run by Alkhidmat Foundation.
The MoU was formalised during a visit by a delegation from Qatar Charity, led by Country Director Amin Abdul Rahman, to Alkhidmat’s national headquarters in Lahore. The document was signed by Abdul Rahman and Alkhidmat Foundation Secretary General Syed Waqas Jafri. Also present at the signing were Prof Dr M Zahid Latif, Chairman of Alkhidmat Health, Dr Ejaz Nazir, National Director of Mobile Health Services; and Waqas Haleem, Director of Programmes at Qatar Charity. Speaking at the ceremony, Jafri stated, “Alkhidmat Foundation has remained committed to providing vital services including health, education, and emergency relief to marginalised communities. This partnership will further boost our healthcare initiatives and extend our outreach to thousands in need.” Prof Dr Latif highlighted the role of Alkhidmat’s mobile health units, which have been operating in flood-affected and remote regions since 2022, delivering services such as medical consultations, free medications, lab testing, and primary healthcare to hundreds of patients daily. Qatar Charity’s Country Director Amin Abdul Rahman praised Alkhidmat Foundation’s nationwide impact and reaffirmed his organization’s commitment to future collaboration. He emphasised that this MoU reflects a shared vision to ensure that access to essential healthcare remains a basic right for all.
