On the second day of Eid, both were in their bedroom when the family heard gunshots and found that the newlyweds were lying in a pool of blood.
The relatives shifted the injured to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Khanpur, where the doctors pronounced them dead.Police believed that the circumstantial evidence supported the act of murder of a woman at the hands of her husband, who also committed suicide. The police launched an investigation into the incident. The same evening, two friends from Buttri village had a quarrel, which resulted in the murder of a boy in his teens at the hands of his close friend. Police said that Masood Khan from the same village opened fire at Daniyal Khan over a petty dispute, critically injuring him.
The injured was shifted to the Trauma centre but succumbed to bullet wounds when he was being transferred to Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad. Police claimed to have arrested the alleged murderer.
