LAHORE: Under the banner of Geo Films, a gripping new movie titled “Deemak” — a unique blend of horror, family ties and domestic drama — is set to hit cinemas this Eidul Azha.

The film’s cast made an appearance at a local cinema, where they were warmly welcomed by a large crowd of fans who took selfies and expressed excitement.
Speaking on the occasion, actor Faisal Qureshi said the story revolves around a middle-class family, where a young couple becomes entangled in mysterious and supernatural events. ‘This film will particularly appeal to audiences who enjoy both horror and family drama,’ he noted.
Actress Sonya Hussyn said the story not only explores fear but also highlights complex social issues. Veteran actress Samina Peerzada remarked that “Deemak” portrays how relationships - especially that of a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law - are strained when an unknown fear begins to engulf a household. The film presents family issues wrapped in the framework of a horror narrative.
Directed by young filmmaker Rafi Rashdi and penned by renowned writer Ayesha Muzaffar, “Deemak” has been produced under the banner of Mandviwalla Entertainment, with Syed Murad Ali serving as executive producer. The star-studded cast includes Javed Sheikh, Bushra Ansari, Saman Ansari, Anaya Abbas and Arez Abbas. The production features contributions from internationally-experienced professionals. The film’s cinematography has been handled by acclaimed cameraman Rana Kamran, while visual effects have been executed by Julia Milas and Imagine Magic Studios. The background score and sound design are the work of Sohaib Rashdi who intensifies the film’s suspenseful atmosphere.
