Islamabad : Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds swept through Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Saturday afternoon, disrupting daily life but providing relief from the hot weather.
Several areas in Islamabad also experienced hailstorms in addition to the rain and gusty winds.
The downpour disrupted traffic in Rawalpindi, and part of the canteen roof at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad collapsed during the storm.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department had issued a forecast warning of rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms in Islamabad, with some areas likely to receive heavy rainfall and hail.
