Maryam, Abbasi discuss bullet train
“The time has come to provide state-of-the-art travel facilities to the people of Punjab,” says Punjab CM
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif held a key meeting with Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi to discuss the prevailing political climate, matters of national security, and the development of modern transport infrastructure in Punjab.
A central focus of the meeting was the proposal to launch Punjab’s first bullet and high-speed train projects, aimed at revolutionising public transportation in the province. The CM highlighted the transformative potential of such initiatives, stating that world-class rail services would not only improve travel convenience but also spur economic growth and employment opportunities.
“The time has come to provide state-of-the-art travel facilities to the people of Punjab,” she said. “A modern railway network will usher in new avenues of economic activity while ensuring ease for citizens.”
Both leaders paid rich tribute to the Pakistan armed forces for their outstanding success in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, praising their dedication to national defence.
“Operation Bunyanum Marsoos is a testament to the unbreakable unity between the nation’s political and military leadership in safeguarding our sovereignty,” CM Maryam remarked. “Our brave soldiers have laid down their lives to protect this homeland. Today’s Pakistan is in safe hands, and the nation stands united with its armed forces and institutions.”
She stressed that political stability, national unity, and sustained progress are vital to addressing the country’s pressing challenges. Minister Hanif Abbasi lauded the chief minister’s vision and leadership, particularly praising the successful launch of the CM Laptop Scheme and Honhaar Scholarship Phase-II. He commended her for prioritising youth empowerment, stating, “CM Maryam Nawaz is leading Punjab on the path of progress and is nurturing the youth like a mother.”
