LAHORE : The Grand Health Alliance continued its strike in public sector hospitals on the 16th consecutive day on Tuesday. The doctors and paramedics also held protest demonstrations on the City's main throroughfares, as medics of Services Hospital and Lahore General Hospital partially blocked Jail Road and Ferozepur Road respectively, which caused severe traffic jam and inconvenience to the commuters. The patients have been facing severe problems due to this prolonged strike in outdoor and indoor wards in hospitals. Several elective surgeries have been postponed as the services were also withdrawn from Operation theatres.

Meanwhile, the Health and Population Department constituted an inquiry committee to allow Dr Shoaib Khan, President Young Doctors Association, to present his defence for not joining his duties in the department since Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department repatriated him with effect from 09.04.2025.
