LAHORE:Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafiq Tuesday chaired a meeting held to review the Suthra Punjab programme in the provincial control room.
Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian, Special Secretary Asia Gul and CEOs of all waste management companies of Punjab participated through video link. During the meeting, the availability of human resource, machinery and monitoring mechanism in each tehsil were also discussed. The minister asked the authorities to address the shortage of HR in tehsils Gujranwala City, Pindi Bhattian and Malikwal, saying that there should be no compromise on staff attendance.
About non-implementation of SOPs at one place in Faisalabad, the minister said all district managers should ensure mandatory installation of tracking systems on vehicles working under Suthra Punjab.
The minister said waste management companies should also send daily reports of monitoring officers to the control room. He warned that if a vehicle is found without a tracker, the contractor will be awarded penalty.
