ISLAMABAD: Nadir Mirza emerged the winner of the boys’ singles in the ITF Pakistan World Juniors Tennis Championship 2025 Leg-II, as his opponent Takaya Ishi (Japan) was unwell to play Saturday’s final.
A total of 60 players from 18 countries, including Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Turkey, Japan, China, Austria, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, Canada, Russia, Sweden, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Romania, and Sri Lanka, participated in the championship.
Nadir Mirza, who was the runner-up in the first leg, emerged champion owing to his outstanding show.
The closing ceremony was graced by Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC), as the chief guest. Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, Patron of the PTF, was the guest of honour.
Other distinguished attendees included Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the PTF; Col. Zia-ud-Din Tufail, Secretary-General of the PTF; Col. Gul Rehman, Director Security of the PTF; Akhtar Nawaz Ganjeera, former DG-PSB; Syed Fahim Inam, Chief Marketing Officer of Serena Hotels; and a large gathering of national and international tennis players, parents, coaches, and media personnel.
