DC office formally resumes work in Ladah

WANA: Deputy Commissioner, Upper South Waziristan, Saleem Jan, on Thursday formally started work at his office in Ladah.

The Upper South Waziristan district headquarters was relocated from Tank to Ladha on March 1, marking a historic administrative shift after 130 years.Upon assuming his duties in Ladha, Deputy Commissioner Saleem Jan initiated a series of meetings with tribal elders from the Mehsud and Burki tribes.

He also convened sessions with representatives of all line departments, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to addressing the local population’s needs more directly and efficiently.

Tribal elders welcomed the relocation and congratulated the deputy commissioner on re-establishing administrative presence in Ladha.They expressed hope that this move would play a key role in promoting lasting peace and development in the area.

Speaking to tribal delegations, Saleem Jan highlighted the historical significance of the transfer. “It has been 130 years since the office of the Political Agent was moved from Ladha to Tank.

Today, under the directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government, we have brought not only the DC office but all key departments back to Ladha,” he stated.He acknowledged the challenges faced by residents in traveling to Tank for official matters and assured that the administration is now present in Ladha to better serve the people.
