Duchess Sophie represents King Charles in latest royal visit
Duchess Sophie, King Charles III's sister-in-law, on Thursday visited Hampshire
Duchess Sophie on Thursday visited farmers at the Leckford Estate in Hampshire ahead of Open Farm Sunday on 7th June, said the royal family in social media statement on Friday.
According to the statement, the Duchess of Edinburgh undertook the visit as Honorary President of LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) ahead of Open Farm Sunday on 7th June.
It said, "Open Farm Sunday, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, has given over 3.5 million people the opportunity to visit working farms, meet the people who produce their food and learn more about the vital role farming plays in the environment, the economy and rural communities."
Duchess Sophie joined the LEAF team at the farm, helping set up a haybale maze and hanging welcome banners around the site, the statement added.
Duchess Sophie is the wife of Prince Edward, the youngest brother of King Charles III. She is one of most active royal family members who often represents the monarch at events in the UK and abroad.
