Mufti Qavi’s Ruet-e-Hilal Committee membership suspended

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has suspended Mufti Abdul Qavi’s membership of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee following appearance of the Mufti with a model girl
Qandeel Baloch on social media.
According to a notification issued by the ministry, the membership of Mufti Abdul Qavi as a member of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has been suspended with immediate effect and as such he will not be able to attend meetings of the committee scheduled to see moon for Eidul Fitr.
The ministry sources said the decision was taken on the directives of Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf. The matter of Mufti Abdul Qavi has also been referred to the Ulema and Mashaikh Council.
