LWMC announces operations during Eid days
LAHORE : The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has launched extensive sanitation operations across the city to ensure a clean environment during Eid days.
Under the leadership of CEO Babar Sahib Din, staff holidays have been canceled to guarantee continuous cleaning services. Over 15,000 workers and more than 1,400 vehicles have been deployed in all three shifts, ensuring that sanitation efforts remain active even on Sundays. Special teams have been assigned to key locations, including commercial markets, bus terminals, and public spaces, where extra cleaning measures have been implemented. The focus of the operations is on cleaning 1,500 mosques, 268 graveyards, and 197 commercial markets.
Additional sanitation measures are being carried out at Eidgahs and the access routes to mosques and graveyards to ensure hygiene during the celebrations. The CEO emphasised that the efforts are part of the company's commitment to maintaining excellent cleanliness throughout the city during Eid days. To ensure the efficiency of the operation, a digital control room has been set up to monitor the sanitation activities in real-time. Citizens are encouraged to report any sanitation concerns or suggestions through the LWMC helpline at 1139.
