Omar Associates, Omar Colts record emphatic wins
KARACHI: Omar Associates bulldozed Multan’s Jahanian Tigers by 175 runs and Omar Colts hammered Shahid Afridi Foundation by nine wickets in their matches of the Dollar East Dr MA Shah Trophy 2016 here at the Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Omar Associates scored a huge total of 209-7 in 20 overs. Muhammad Waqas (81 off 44) and Noman Anwar (77 off 44) produced scintillating knocks. Sajid Afridi took four wickets for only 14 runs. Jahanian Tigers were bundled out for a measly 34 in 8.2 overs. Faisal Khan and Hasnain Ashraf were the only players to reach double figures, each scoring 11 runs. Muhammad Ilyas and Immad Wasim hauled four wickets each for 13 and 20 runs, respectively.
Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi Foundation put 107-8 on the board in 20 overs. Jamal Anwar top scored with his unbeaten 23-run knock. Hannan Khan took four wickets for 13 runs.
Omar Colts easily achieved the target in 12.3 overs with nine wickets in hand. Irfan Khan (67) batted well for the winners.
