Buckingham Palace has shared a major update as King Charles office broke silence on Duchess Sophie’s secret trip abroad.

The palace released photos of the Duchess on social media handles hours after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived in the Middle East for their first international tour in 18 months.

The California-based royal couple have travelled to Jordan to support efforts by the World Health Organisation.

Meghan and Harry will visit initiatives they have supported financially to help facilitate medical evacuation for children impacted by the conflict in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the palace said, “The Duchess of Edinburgh has visited Somalia, at the request of the @FCDOGovUK, to continue her work supporting survivors of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) in the region.”

Sophie met President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud at Villa Somalia, and afterwards joined his daughter Jihan Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to meet survivors of conflict-related sexual violence.

In Lower Shabelle, the Duchess visited a Somali village to meet the wives of Somali forces, who explained the challenges they face while their husbands fight for a more secure and stable Somalia.

Visiting a hospital in the centre of Mogadishu, Sophie learnt about the impact of a UK-supported sexual and reproductive health service programme operating in regions affected by insecurity and displacement.

Moreover, as per the reports, Meghan and Harry will not meet the Jordanian royal during their trip to the Middle East this week.
