4 uplift schemes worth over Rs25bn approved

LAHORE:Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) approved four development schemes worth over Rs25 billion. The approval was made in the 62nd meeting of the PDWP, chaired by Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan.

The meeting was attended by P&D Board Secretary Dr Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, members of the P&D Board, and other senior officers. The approved schemes included construction of a dual carriageway from GT Road (Benazir Chowk) to Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (Wahndo Interchange), District Gujranwala, at a cost of Rs9.970 billion, reconstruction/rehabilitation of GT Road from Quaid-i-Azam Interchange (Lahore Ring Road) to Wagah Border, District Lahore, at a cost of Rs5.600 billion, construction of a flyover at Nadirabad Phatak to Industrial Estate, Multan, at a cost of Rs5.376 million, and revamping Bansra Gali Zoological Garden, Murree, at a cost of Rs3.973 billion.

Timely completion of Walton Road project directed

Punjab Central Business District (Punjab CBD), is rapidly approaching the completion of the Walton Road upgradation project, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to modernising Lahore’s infrastructure.

Following the successful opening of the Major Ishaq Shaheed Flyover, CBD Punjab has completed the asphalt paving of Walton Road, making it fully motorable for commuters. With the primary road infrastructure in place, CBD Punjab has now commenced hardscaping and landscaping works along Walton Road. Additionally, critical ancillary works, including the construction of concrete footpaths, installation of signboards and lane marking are in the final stages. Punjab CBD CEO has directed the full deployment of workforce and resources to ensure the project's timely completion in accordance with the directives of the CM .
