Nawaz, Maryam discuss uplift projects with Punjab MPAs
Discussions focus on political situation in country, public issues, and development projects
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) President and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, along with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, met with members of the Punjab Assembly from Rawalpindi, Attock, Murree, Chakwal, Wazirabad, Hafizabad, and Mandi Bahauddin.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the overall political situation in the country, public issues, and development projects in the respective constituencies. The assembly members lauded CM Maryam Nawaz for her outstanding performance in the province. They said that her governance had revived memories of the tenures of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif.
They further praised the completion of development projects with transparency, merit, and freedom from political bias, calling it a commendable and positive political tradition. The members also congratulated the chief minister on ensuring the availability of subsidised and surplus fertiliser, which has significantly benefitted farmers by reducing their reliance on middlemen. They highlighted improvements in the health sector, the provision of free medicines, doorstep medical treatment, ‘Honhaar Scholarships’ for talented students, and the ‘Suthra Punjab’ initiative. The ‘Dhee Rani Program’ for collective marriages has also received positive public feedback.
Nawaz Sharif said that the assembly members were his strength and pride. He expressed gratitude that, by the grace of Allah Almighty, public hardships were easing rapidly in the province. He credited the visible improvements in every sector of Punjab to Maryam Nawaz’s dedication and hard work.
Speaking to the assembly members, Maryam Nawaz said, “Punjab is the only province where bread is available for Rs12 to Rs14.” She emphasised that “public satisfaction and feedback serve as the ultimate measure of the Punjab government’s performance.”
She directed the assembly members to ensure the completion of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project by December, along with the timely execution of other development projects in the Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a Levies vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan, which resulted in the martyrdom of four personnel. She expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and paid tribute to the martyrs. She extended her heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families.
