Walton Road Project: Commissioner unhappy with slow pace of work
LAHORE:Commissioner Lahore Zaid bin Maqsood visited the Walton Road Development Scheme and expressed his dissatisfaction over the speed of work here on Monday.
DC Lahore Syed Musa Raza, AC Model Town and Cantt, Wasa and traffic police officers were also present on this occasion. Commissioner Lahore expressed dissatisfaction over Walton Road construction progress and directed to speed up the work. He said that according to the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the remaining works on Walton Road must be completed soon.
The complete construction of Walton Road will provide the citizens with the best transportation facilities. The water from the streets will not go back to the home. The CBD officers while giving a briefing about the progress on the under construction Walton Road have said that 80% of the Walton Road Upgradation project has been completed, the main roads are ready, work has started on the green belts, on both carriageways of Walton Road. Asphalt work was also complete, road is operational for traffic, 4.2 km trunk sewer line on Walton Road is complete, old drain has been shifted to new drain. Major Ishaq Shaheed Flyover on Walton Road was functional for traffic, the flyover was 510 meters long and consists of two lanes.
