FIA decodes Axact’s main server

KARACHI: An FIA team has succeeding in decoding the main server of the Axact that has brought forward data of about 60 universities and 42,000 students. On the other side, two Axact sales officers have confessed to working at the Axact Rawalpindi Call Centre with the fake name of George and Mike.
Most of the people, who had degrees from these universities, are foreigners who are from India, Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Gulf countries. There are no online courses the degrees have showed. It is being estimated how much income the Axact earned through these degrees.
Rawalpindi Axact Sales Officers Sajjad Haider and Hassnain-ur-Rahman confessed to working as George and Mike. According to FIA sources, the data retrieved from 15 Axact computers is about six universities and 11 schools and colleges. An international organisation has been contacted for the verification of degrees issued by American universities. The sources said an email had been sent to the institution dealing with the registration of American schools and colleges. Meanwhile, a meeting chaired by FIA DG Akbar Hoti was told that the HEC had been contacted in connection with the degrees found from the Axact computers.
