ISLAMABAD: Duty Judge, Islamabad, Azhar Nadeem, has approved one-day physical remand of Imran Khan’s sisters Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Asad Qaiser’s brother Adnan Khan on charges of terrorism. The court directed the police to bring the accused to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday (today).
Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan, along with Adnan Khan, brother of Asad Qaiser and other party workers, were presented in a local court in Islamabad on Sunday.
Imran Khan’s sisters were arrested on Friday along with other PTI workers on charges, including terrorism and attempted murder. The police had requested a 20-day physical remand, but the duty judge approved a one-day physical remand for Imran Khan’s sisters.
The case registered against Imran’s sisters at the Kohsar Police Station on serious charges, including 16 provisions related to terrorism. The sisters, along with another individual, were presented before the court, which approved their remand and directed the accused to appear before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday.
In addition to this, the court ordered the judicial remand of nine other PTI women workers, sending them to Adiala jail. Furthermore, 102 PTI workers are to be sent for an identification parade.
The Islamabad police on Friday arrested Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan, during a protest in D-Chowk. The arrests occurred after the imposition of Section 144 in the federal capital and both were taken to a police station.
