Ministry of Finance issues notification for revised amount of 'Diyat'

ISLAMABAD: The government has increased ‘ Diyat ‘ amount by Rs1,346,053 (Rs1.346 million in view of increase in the silver rate.
A notification of the Ministry of Finance says that the ‘Diyat’ amount has been fixed at Rs8,103,955 (Rs8.103 million) which is equal to the value of 30,630 grams of silver for the year 2024-25.
“In pursuance of subsection (2) of Section 323 of Pakistan Penal Code Act, the federal government is pleased to declare Rs8,103,955 to be value of 30, 630 grams of silver as Diyat for the financial year 2024-25”, the notification said.
The ‘Diyat’ was Rs6,757,902 (Rs 6.757 million) for the fiscal year 2023-24.
