Drive launched to plant one million saplings across country
In order to protect Pakistan’s environment, a welfare organisation, Chhipa Foundation, has announced a drive to plant one million saplings across the country.
In a statement, Ramzan Chhipa, social worker and patron-in-chief of the Chhipa Foundation, reaffirmed his dedication to combating global warming and environmental pollution in Pakistan. In connection with the country's 77th Independence Day, he announced the launch of a nationwide plantation drive, aiming to plant one million saplings across Pakistan in its initial phase.
He maintained that the foundation's tree-planting efforts would not cease even after reaching the one-million mark. Instead, the organisation would continue its plantation campaigns relentlessly until Pakistan was transformed into a completely green and sustainable nation.
Speaking at the launch of the campaign, Chhipa said the issue of deforestation was a matter of survival for Pakistan, and warned that failure to act may result in the country becoming a desert.
He urged the citizens from all walks of life, particularly the youth and students, to join the campaign and plant saplings.
