Burewala flooded after rains amid power outages plight
BUREWAL: Heavy rains in Burewala and its surrounding areas have led to widespread flooding, offering temporary relief from the extreme heat and humidity that had gripped the region. However, the downpour has turned streets and roads, particularly in the Shibi area, into waterlogged ponds, causing significant inconvenience to residents.
In a tragic incident, a woman suffered a short circuit after operating an electric fan amid the flooding. The sudden failure of the fan highlights the dangers posed by waterlogged conditions and compromised electrical systems during such weather events.
The city’s sewage system was also overwhelmed by the heavy rainfall, leading to further complications as the drainage infrastructure failed to cope with the deluge. The paralysis of the sewage system has exacerbated the flooding situation, with stagnant water posing potential health risks.
