LAHORE:The governing body of LDA has approved the fiscal year’s budget amounting to Rs96.16 billion for LDA and its sub-agencies, including Rs59.18 billion for LDA UD Wing, Rs34.5 billion for Wasa and Rs2.49 billion for TEPA.
The budget was approved in the first meeting of the governing body held under the chairmanship of LDA Vice Chairman Mian Marghub Ahmed on Tuesday. LDA DG Tahir Farooq briefed the members of governing body on the agenda. During the meeting, the governing body gave approval for classification and reclassification (commercialisation) of eight major roads in the provincial capital while amendments in the LDA Transfer of Properties Regulation 2023 and the Management of Properties of Lahore Development Authority Lease Right, Regulation 2024 were also approved.
The governing body also approved the establishment of the Directorate of Marketing and Business Development in LDA and reforms and recruitments in the Strategic Policy Unit. The authority also approved development works under sustainable development programme in Gulberg Scheme and MM Alam Road under Urban Regeneration Plan.
Properties sealed
Continuing its operations against illegal constructions and commercial fee defaulters, LDA teams sealed five properties here on Tuesday. Chief Town Planner-I Asad-ul-Zaman ordered the operation, which was supervised by Director Town Planning Zone-I Ayesha Mutahir. Several notices were given to these properties before the operation.
