Arne Slot responds after Liverpool sack decision as fans react online
Andoni Iraola is going to replace Slot as new head coach of Liverpool
Liverpool's former head coach has responded after the club fired Arne Slot in a surprising move.
According to Farbrizio Romano, who posted on the X, Slot thanked Liverpool for the amazing season.
"It's been an amazing ride together with Liverpool, I am so grateful that we were able to win the league last season,” he said.
The alleged response comes after Liverpool decided to fire Arne Slot for the sake of change of direction.
In the statement, the club said, “Change is necessary in order for the club to keep moving forward ....The conclusion we have come to is built on a belief that the team’s trajectory is best addressed through a change of direction. That does not diminish the work Arne has done here.”
As per reports, Andoni Iraola is going to replace Slot as new head coach of Liverpool.
The news of sacking Slot comes as a shock for Liverpool fans as Slot helped the club to win its 20th League title in his first season (2024-2025).
One fan wrote, “Let's not forget guys that it's not easy to win the Premier League and thank him for his contribution.”
Another user reacted on X ““Absolutely classless , man wins a premier league and gets sacked the following year…you can say he won with klopps team but guess what klopp didn't win it with klopps team and didn't retain it with the so called great team he built.”
The third one commented while drawing comparison with Arsenal, “What Liverpool did to this man is not fair. They should have given him more time. Look at Arsenal, how many did Arteta spend before winning something tangible. These things take time.”
Some paid tribute to his immense contributions, citing, “We will forever be grateful for 20 last season. His name will forever be a part of our history. He must know that it did not go well this season, we know the issues but the football we were playing was dross. Best of luck for the future and a warm welcome should await on his return.”
