Argentina is a step away from creating history in the 2026 FIFA World Cup; in their way are the mighty Spanish team and, presumably, Drake's curse.

That is because the Grammy-winning rapper has put a whopping $1.5 million on La Albiceleste to beat Spain in the Sunday game.

Yet, with such a high bet on the Stake gambling platform, where Drake typically does the betting, there is a problem.

The Toronto rap star has a history of what has become an internet meme, he has a reputation for jinxing teams and athletes he has put money on.

The latest example came earlier this month, when he lost $1 million by backing Conor McGregor to win against Max Holloway.

According to FanSided, Drake lost 55 and won merely 32 in 87 bets, which were tracked, costing him over $1.5 million.

Even with the last World Cup, where he wagered on Argentina to win, and win they did, but the One Dance hitmaker still lost the bet because he put the money on Lionel Messi's team to win inside 90 minutes.

Nonetheless, Argentina and Spain are set to face off in the 2026 World Cup final today at the New York-New Jersey Stadium
