SWABI: Leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Swabi have issued a stern warning, stating that if any of their leaders or workers are harmed by district police or leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), they will respond with equal force.
At a press conference, the PPP leaders also criticised the current MNA and former speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, and MNA Shehram Khan Tarakai.
Those who spoke on the occasion included PPP Divisional General Secretary Javed Inqilabi, Biland Iqbal Tarakai, District President Ali Khan, General Secretary Ashfaq Khan, Tehsil Topi President Malik Nawaz Khan, and District Vice President Aman Khan.
They criticised the PTI leaders for allegedly adopting a policy of oppression. They said that Biland Tarakai was held by the neck and insulted, and later he was forced to approach the local court, which called for registering an FIR against the then DSP Iftikhar (now SP investigation). However, the case has not been registered against him to date because PTI leaders were allegedly protecting him.
“If something happens to me, I will not leave Asad Qaiser, Shahram, and Iftikhar under any circumstances. I swear once again,” said Biland Tarakai, who also contested elections from a provincial constituency.
When contacted, SP Iftikhar said that he had done nothing wrong and just performed his official duty by raiding their residence. Both Asad Qaiser and Shahram were contacted, but they did not answer the calls.
